Birding Event: Beyond the Binoculars

Birding Event: Beyond the Binoculars promotional image

UI's School of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability along with the UI Museum of Natural History will host registrants for a very special birding event.

First, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. join us at the Ashton Prairie for some birding tips, tricks, and fun. We'll discuss what to look and listen for, bird identification, and different apps that can help. Seasoned birders are welcome to just soar on their own. Be sure to dress for the prairie and consider sunscreen, bug repellant, and bringing along some water! We'll have a couple binoculars to share but recommend bringing your own if you have them.

Next, we'll fly over to the UI Museum of Natural History from 11 a.m. to noon for some exploration in Bird Hall featuring exhibitions and some special collections items from the vault. No bug repellant required for this part!

This event is free and open to all but does require registration. There are only 36 available spots so grab yours for you and your flock now.
