Asa is a Platform Group Product Manager at Planet, where he leads strategy and execution for discovering, delivering and hosting satellite imagery and analytics on Planet Insights Platform. Planet operates the world’s largest fleet of Earth imaging satellites capable of imaging the entire Planet, which supports use cases in agriculture, environmental monitoring, and government operations.

Previously, Asa helped launch the Global Forest Watch platform at the World Resources Institute, enabling real-time forest monitoring for conservation and policy-making applications worldwide. He also worked at ESRI, supporting state and local governments in adopting geospatial solutions. 

Asa earned his Bachelor's degree in Geography, with a focus on Environmental Studies, from the University of Iowa. He is passionate about the intersection of technology, sustainability, and public service and is looking forward to contributing his expertise and perspective to the University of Iowa as a board member for SEES.
