Meg Raatz

Biography

Meg is the first graduate from the U of I Environmental Geology BA program and worked as a Hydrogeologist at the Wisconsin DNR where she focused on leaking underground storage tanks and EPA Superfund sites across the state.  She also worked on an environmental remediation project at Holoman Air Force Base at White Sands, New Mexico. 

Meg and her family moved often, allowing for to work in various fields.  Her well-rounded degree from UI enabled her to teach elementary and middle school. 

Volunteering has been a constant way of life for Meg. She has held leadership positions in a variety of organizations, including PTO, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, high school marching band, and quilt guilds.  Her primary hobbies are quilting and traveling, but she also enjoys spending time outdoors and bird watching.

In her role as a member of the SEES Alumni Board, Meg is looking forward to helping where needed and increasing the visibility of the School at UI.
