Choose the track in environmental bioscience
Students in the environmental bioscience track have a passion for understanding interactions among organisms, the environment and human activities. They learn about Earth’s biodiversity, plants, animals, and microorganisms, and how short- and long-term landscape and biotic evolution act on populations, communities, and ecosystems.
Environmental bioscience students build a broad scientific background with required coursework in the biological, chemical, and physical sciences, but with a curriculum aimed at accommodating varying interests. Students who complete the track might pursue graduate work in the biological sciences, teach elementary or high school science, become a land steward for local governments, manage fishery resources for the national marine fisheries service, rebuild prairies for non-profits, or conduct field studies for government or consulting groups.
