Honors in Your Major

Pursue honors in your SEES major

Complete the following requirements to graduate with honors in your major from the UI School of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability (SEES).

Gain approval for an honors thesis contract with your advisor and the school's undergraduate committee by the first semester of your senior year or earlier.
Register for SEES:4995 Honors Thesis credits as you work to complete your thesis and earn a grade of B or higher.
Maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.33 in all University of Iowa and SEES coursework.

University of Iowa Honors Program

In addition to honors in the major, students may pursue honors study and activities through membership in the University of Iowa Honors Program. University honors students must maintain a 3.33 grade-point average, complete 12 semester hours of coursework designated as honors courses, and complete 12 semester hours of an experiential learning project. NOTE: Membership in the UI Honors Program is not required to earn honors in the major.
